South - South - North Network for Sustainable Development in Countries of the South. International Knowledge Network for Sustainable Development
Our development plan is a project with the aim of promoting sustainable development in weakly structured rural regions of countries in the South. A concept for implementing the original plan of the Haitian Dr. Anthony Etienne was developed together with his students of the Berlin University of Technology (TU-Berlin) in 2000. Since Dr. Etienne's death the idea has been taken up and pursued by his colleague and friend sociology Professor Werner Siebel at the TU in Berlin. More Students, Alumnis and university staff from Berlin, Brandenburg, other European countries and several Southern countries have since become involved.

Sin duda la comunicación para el Desarrollo Sustentable es la herramienta que tenemos a mano para iniciar los cambios sociales, políticos y económicos que nuestro país y el cosmos necesita. Beitrag zur Biogas-Geschichte (Trockenfermentation)
Submitted by GERBIO on Sat, 18/11/2006 - 09:41.In der Zeitschrift "Energiepflanzen" 5/2006 ist ein zweiseitiger Beitrag über die "Trockenfermentation" erschienen. Die Langfasssung mit Literaturangeben und weiteren Bildern hätte ich gerne als Datei (PDF) abgelegt, aber der Speicherplatz (magere 1 MB) reicht nicht.
Bei der Trockenfermentation handelt es sich um ein Konzept, das sich speziell für pflanzliche Reste, die eine Struktur bilden, eignet. Es kann in vielen Fällen die meist präferierte Kompostierung, die eben definitiv keine Energie liefern kann, ersetzen.
Interessenten können die Datei bei mir anfordern.

Submitted by GERBIO on Wed, 15/11/2006 - 12:39.Ich habe meine Beiträge über Backöfen und Lampen so geschaltet, daß sie nur noch für die Gruppe "El Pan Alegre" zu sehen sind. Ich hoffe, daß das funktioniert. Ich werde prüfen, was ich an Testtexten noch beseitigen oder ändern kann.

Ich habe mich mal rangesetzt ein neues IKN LOGO zu entwerfen.
Die ersten Entwürfe könnt ihr hier sehen, ich mache eine Umfrage, bei der ich mich freuen würde wenn ihr alle eure meinung abgebt. Für Anregungen, Kritiken bin ich sehr dankbar.

Activities
ORGANISATION UNITS:
IFAN :
(Investigation and Formation Network on Sustainable Development): its aim is resource- mobilisation in the scientific and research area and the development of the network in the scientific community. The other objectives are research into the targets and questions which will be produced in the South-South-North network and the realising of the transfer of the scientific knowledge in the international area of the network.
Approach
EMPOWERMENT THROUGH KNOWLEDGE
The approach is problem-orientated and not technical-orientated, drawn on as needed, and drawing on local endogenous resources. Our cross-disciplinary and interdisciplinary approach will bring together social studies and the technical/natural sciences, scientists and those with hands-on expertise.
Specific regional and endogenous social and cultural resources are to be identified, internationally and scientifically exchanged, and then to be applied when problems on a regional level need to be solved. In Order to support a continual exchange of information, the network will identify common issues and particular research subjects based on the most important points (to be discussed below) for comparative study.

IKN-Platform Meeting on Monday

Everybody is very welcome to join the IKN-Meeting. We will have an introduction about the functionality of our new platform and how to use it. We will also discuss it and practise it with examples - creating content, groups, personal pages... Important is also to talk about categories under which we publish the content, the usability, functions and other relevant topics.
For any questions and recomendations we would be happy to listen to them. Whith every question we can improve the platform to make it as comfortable as possible for you to use it.
